Trippin’ | Sunning Myself on BC’s Sunshine Coast

White sand beaches are nice and all, but I’d take a rocky coast any day. I love the dramatic waterfront of Hvar, Croatia, Antalya, Turkey and, a little closer to home, Egmont, BC, where I spent the other weekend on a cliff overlooking a fjord (that’s the view from my balcony in the photo above).

My favourite thing about the West Coast Wilderness Lodge where I stayed (aside from the fact that I was the first person to stay in my brand new room)? No cell reception, no internet —  just huckleberries that match my nail polish (Trout Pout by Butter London) and a nearby bake shop that serves killer freshly baked cinnamon buns.

Oh, and also the photo booth that was brought in for the wedding I attended there (congratulations Nadia and Jamie!). Like stunning coastlines, I can never get enough of those things.

Diary | Vintage Chanel at Secret Location

Photographer Trevor Brady snapped some gorgeous shots at Secret Location’s vintage Chanel party. Like the one above where I’m concentrating so hard on that little photo I’m snapping I didn’t even notice he was snapping one of me. (Snap out of it, Kelsey!)

My perforated leather dress is by Literature Noir, suede shoes by Elizabeth and James, hairband by Deepa Gurnani (at Libertine), my eel skin clutch is vintage. On my ladyfriend Laura (on the left) is a pleated drop-waist dress by Rag and Bone and shoes by Alexander Wang.

Thanks, Michelle, for sending these shots my way!

Style | Shooting Freedman Shoes’ Fall/Winter 2012 Ad Campaign

Photo shoots — I love everything about them. Hot on the, um, heels of the fall/winter campaign shoot for Sterling Shoes we shot the fall/winter campaign for Freedman Shoes, photographed by David Fierro, styled by Luisa Rino, designed by Dawn Newton and creative directed by yours truly.

As with any shoot, it meant plenty of hanging out with models. Like this one, who also happens to be my dog-in-law Lola.

And one of the industry’s freshest faces, my friend Kylie’s toddler Mya.

I spotted some of my favourite hardware on the Freedman Shoes team, like this anchor and rope bracelet by Jamie Watson. Which reminds me, I want to order one for myself.

When the shots are posted you better believe I’ll share them with you. Until then, let’s all reminisce about this beauty from Freedman’s spring/summer campaign, shall we?

Diary | Happily Sipping my Way Through the Kelowna Wine Trails

Oooooooh boy. I can barely contain my excitement. A few weeks ago I trekked to BC’s Okanagan to host a series for Tourism Kelowna and Vitamin Daily. (You’ll find a behind-the-scenes recap here.)

My task? To sip my way along the Kelowna Wine Trails.

First stop: Summerhill Pyramid Winery where I wined and dined with the best of them. (Despite what it looks like, I’m not blowing a kiss to the chef.) Take a look…

Thanks for having me, Tourism Kelowna, Vitamin Daily and Summerhill Pyramid Winery! Thanks again, Bent Matter Productions! Can’t wait for the next instalment!

In The Anthology’s Bookmark column we explore some of the most inspiring places on the wild, wild web.

Scrolling through Intelligent Clashing feels a lot like scrolling through Pinterest — the images are wild and surprising. But Intelligent Clashing takes the randomness down a notch and ties together seemingly unrelated images by a colour, texture or pattern.

Sometimes the connection is abstract, sometimes it’s dead obvious.

But this virtual visual essay is fun to get lost in. So bookmark Intelligent Clashing already and bookmark The Anthology while you’re at it.

Diary | Camping on a Budget on CTV Morning Live

Now that is the face of a happy camper. I stopped by CTV Morning Live yesterday to talk all about camping in style while on a budget.

If you’ve stocked up on camping gear lately, as I have, you know it can be a crazy investment. Unless you head to Superstore where PC Home has just launched a new Terra Gear Camping Collection. Of my picks, nothing — not even the tent host Aamer Haleem camped out in — costs more than $40.

And yet you’ll find everything you need to go glamping (glam camping). Except maybe a professional makeup artist.

Or a heated, sheltered set.

My happy camper secret weapon? A s’mores kit, which I could have used when I camped on the Oregon Coast a few weeks ago.

And some comfy clothes to wear as you’re roasting marshmallows on the campfire. My button-up shirt and slim-fit gold cords are both by Joe Fresh, my shoes are by Frye.

Exciting, right? Watch the segment right here.

Thank you, CTV Morning Live, Tara Parker Tait PR, Joe Fresh and Superstore!

Pinstagram | Blanket Statements, Mad Hatters and Thirst-quenchers

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column brings together highlights from Kelsey Dundon’s Pinterest and Instagram feeds. In other words, the dream and the reality.

I had the blues + that outfit makes me green with envy.

A lavender- and cilantro-infused cocktail at The Acorn (which I wrote about right here) + a different type of thirst-quencher.

My clutch, c/o Identity Tee, is made of a vintage Hudson Bay Blanket + a stunning gown that makes its own blanket statement.

Grub‘s wallpaper is by by Lee Hutzulak, part of Rollout’s Artist Series, + a mini wallpaper-admirer.

At Secret Location’s Vintage Chanel Soiree my girlfriend Laura played the mad hatter + meanwhile I’m mad about this parasol.

Geology + geometry.
