What would I do without my tailor?

Dress like your Great Aunt Helga? Wander around in a wedding dress from the sixties like some scorned bride?

Honestly, I’d be lost. Or at least I wouldn’t be buying so many vintage pieces and having them made over.

Like this dress. Which was gorgeous, just not my style. A few snips here, a little sewing there, and it’s parfait for everyday.

gold-ruby-earrings-from-istanbul

Wore it with my gold and ruby earrings from Istanbul. (Confession: I bought them as a gift for my sister and then promptly stole them back. Please tell me I’m not the only one to de-gift like that.)

And my leather lace-ups. Which begs the question: what would I do without my favourite boots? I shudder at the thought.

P.S. What would you do if you won a bottle of Marc Jacobs BANG?

Fabulous alterations! Love how you paired it with the scarf (great detail!) and the lace-ups…(where are the lace ups from? I wonder what I’m doing withOUT them in my life! haha!)

Beautiful dress – I love what you had done to it and the button detailing is gorgeous, as is the color. Love the earrings too – I think I spent too much time inhaling spices when I was in Istanbul to fully pay attention to the jewelry stores. Shame on me…

Your tailor is awesome! The color is very “parfait” as you put it and looks great with those brown boots.

I degift all the time! As horrible as it sounds, when I got back from Morocco I had a suitcase full of jewellry to give away to friends and family and I’m ashamed to say I kept 95% of it…
    The dress looks lovely!

gorgeous & i love the scarf especially! i’m glad to see your fabulousness… i’ve recently begun visiting your fair city and love it, but am underwhelmed by the street fashion (or lack thereof… but i notice with spring things look up a bit, maybe thats fashion season?)

i’m loving the blog. i’m not really a blog person either.

    thanks
