It snowed in Vancouver! (Shocking, I know.) Which means it’s finally time to bundle up in giant wooly things.
Like this poncho I found in a vintage shop. It’s the coziest thing I’ve ever put on. It’s hand-knit in Bolivia, a country I’d love, love, love to visit one day.
Could that be because its mountain-framed water reminds me a bit of home? (I love you, British Columbia!)
Judging by the animal shape woven into it, I’m going to venture a guess that it’s made of alpaca wool.
And while I may not have a pet alpaca…
I do have a pet German Shepherd Cross to get me through the snow days.

P.S. We pick the lucky winner of Marc Jacobs BANG this week. Enter and it could be you!

It sure looks cozy! Alpacas sure are cute but odd looking fellas! I actually have one in a photo with me from a blog post in July! (haha)

Everything is amazing is always from a vintage shop and therefore unavailable to me…ugh. LOVE your poncho!!
And I’m amazed by the reworking of that red dress from a few posts back. Great job!!
Just an advice : never try to make a poncho from your German Sheperd.
Nice find! I want to touch and feel how soft and cozy it is!
Aren’t we the luckiest? We live in the best place on earth! I love BC!!!
Oh if only gorgeous cozy Alpaca woven capes could get me through the Calgary winters. Saturday night we went for an evening walk bundled in – are you ready? – a base layer, wool sweater, scarf, down jacket, and wind shell. And I was still a little chilled!!! If not for my adorable Forever 21 toque I wouldn’t have looked so stylish!
Alpacas are my favourite animals to google image search, check this one:

I can’t believe you were okay in just a poncho! I have such a poor tolerance for cold weather, I would’ve been freezing lol.
woah you can encounter an alpaca just like that ??
sooo jealous !!
the dog looks friendly and i love ur poncho !

teehee! the alpaca has pretty pretty eyes!
ahh the poncho. such a unique and pretty piece and it looks so cozy. unfortunately it’s not one of those things I can do being a small person. capes, ponchos are all no-nos for petite frames it think or it looks too elfish.
Aw, I love the alpaca and the dog, they’re so cute! I just can’t decide who’s cuter!
