Pinstagram | Puppy Chau

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Furry and fluffy. A young lab puppy who took a liking to my Cougar Boots and an illustrated cat I took a liking to.

Emerald city. My youngest intern makes herself comfortable in my Herman Miller Embody Chair, meanwhile I’d be quite comfortable in this emerald outfit.

When life hands you roses… Rose-infused lemonade at the General Public on Main Street (which I wrote about here) and flower-cicles for your drank.

Lovey dovey. A punny shirt at Victoria’s Secret Pink and proof that pink isn’t just for Valentine’s Day.

Hang it up. Mobile cards at stationery store The Hach and mobile hearts for your living room.

Get comfy. Make like your best friend and curl up on a floor cushion or with a cozy old blanket.

Chau down. A snapshot from Chau Veggie Express (which I covered here) and the cover of the cutest book ever.

Pinstagram | Lions, dinos and wolves

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Lions and dinos. The Lions Gate Bridge, which takes you from downtown Vancouver to the north shore mountains, is old by this city’s standards, but new compared to a prehistoric roadtripper.

We call it “snewing”. Snowshowing beats hanging out in the rainy city, unless of course you’re hanging out in the city decked out in winterwear that looks anything but.

Neck and neck. I keep a crystal close to my heart in a pouch by Vancouver’s Ora bags, just like I’d keep this necklace by Mawi close to my heart if it were mine.

Pretty Walrus. Vancouver’s Walrus Home never fails gift-wise, just like a pony T cinched with a bow never fails girliness-wise.

Wildebeasts. My wild beasts aren’t nearly as fierce as a real wild beast. Not even in the Tyra Banks sense of the word.

Change of pace. I kicked off my lectures at Simon Fraser University’s Digital Communications Program this week, which means I’m already thinking of a palm tree-riffic spring break.

Beet it. The vegan chocolate cake at Heirloom Vegetarian is a) surprisingly delicious and b) decorated with beets, just like this home is outfitted with beet-red decor.

Pinstagram | Twigs and Twiggy

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Take a hike. Walking off holiday turkey with my beasts in a coat c/o Old Navy and boots c/o Cougar + my favourite place to get lost.

Colour wonderful. One heckuva bright book at Elliott Bay Books in Seattle + one heckuva bright door.

Purple haze. A pastel sunset in Seattle + a pastel-clad Twiggy.

Bright lights. The flying neon pig of Save On Meatsa neon kiss.

Oooooh sparkly. Baked at Home’s delicious sugar crystal-covered cookies and Olivia Wilde’s crystal-covered top.

Ring it in. My headpiece wants to wish you a very happy 2013. May it be a colourful one!

Pinstagram | Patterns, Pinks and Prep

Seeing patterns. A casual look comprised of a Gap shirt, vintage bag and shoes Structured 65 c/o Ecco + a pretty entryway (those things need more love).

I’m lovin it. With hosts Jillian Harris and Todd Talbot at the Love It or List It Vancouver launch + a home that, if it were mine, I would never, ever list.

Bursts of colour. Candy-coloured Native Shoes for the wee ones and big ones + a colourful kitchen carpet.

Sand and paint. Gastown’s Union Wood Co. + a painting in all the colours of love.

Shirting the issue. Men’s shirts by Minimum (launching in Canada spring 2013) + a little pastel prep.

Golden oldies. The classic apple cider is reinvented with whipped cream and caramel at Bel Cafe + a vintage YSL necklace.

Eye of the mini tiger. My fluffy beast Estelle Getty + another cat-eyed beauty (whose newest movie baffles and amazes me).

Pretty in… Making macarons at Simply French, such a wholesome stagette activity (congratulations, Kara!) + the most rock ‘n roll pink outfit I I’ve ever seen.

Auditoriums and aquariums. A lecture hall early in the morning before a talk I gave at Simon Fraser University’s Continuing Studies + a school of jellyfish.

Pinstagram | Roses, Pinks and Blues

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

In print. A kilim rug I from Pottery Barn and a pink, white and blue dress I wish I could find in store.

Leaves and pages turning. A fall tree on Vancouver’s Granville Street and a new cover for Wuthering Heights, a great read on a cool night.

Heavy petal. Roses and jellybeans from my stop into Rebecca Bree and frosty roses.

Well heeled. My boots from Joe Fresh’s new boot collection (c/o of Joe Fresh) and a fresh fall look.

Tied up. A Mini Saul Bracelet c/o of Sarah Cameron and a classic bikini.

Take a seat. My mid-century modern chair (and much newer cat) and a modern seat.

Cozy up. Vancouver’s newest vegetarian restaurant Heirloom (which I first wrote about here) and a bedspread that looks just as cozy.

The blues. My new vintage table lamp and a cool-hued room.

All that glitters. Strings of lights outside a studio at the Eastside Culture Crawl and blurry glittery prettiness.

Pinstagram | Beachside, Poolside and Roadside Glamour

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Don’t look down. Kauai’s Waimea Canyon is stunningly beautiful (if you’re not afraid of heights) + so is this model, who looks like she’s contemplating her own fear of heights.

Branch out. Trees lining one of Maui’s beaches (those are surfers in the distance) + trees lining a winter road (without any surfers for miles).

Nice weave. A woven beach bag my mom brought back from Mexico in the 1970’s + a woven hairdo that makes me want to grow my hair out.

Deluxe accommodations. When I went to summer camp in Maui as a teenager this was my cabin (which you can now rent) + what I remember most about those nights isn’t the midnight scuba dives (though they were wild) it was how starry the night sky was.

It’s a jungle out there. This was the trail leading through a bamboo forest in Haleakala National Park in Maui + and this appropriately illustrates how dense the forest was.

Birds on a wire. The sugar cane fields in Maui are the coolest + so are these birds.

Cool blues. I spent a day on a catamaran when I was in Maui + this is what I wore. <—That was a complete lie. I wore the dorkiest snorkel gear ever.

Pinstagram | Cher, Dionne and Violet

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

La La Land. Two of my favourite things about Los Angeles? LAX and Beverly Hills.

Sweet tooth. A teeny, tiny, and very delicious coconut pudding at Vij’s Restaurant in Vancouver + a teeny, tiny crystallized violet.

Living in textile. A few bright, colourful fabrics I found at my local sewing shop Spool of Thread + a bright, colourful carpet I’d love to have in my dining room.

Hello, halo. Hers is fake. And since mine is a trick of the camera, I suppose my halo is too. (That MINI, I’m driving? MINI Richmond wants to give it to you!)

Art attack. Opening night of Andrew Grassie’s exhibit at Rennie Collection + words worth walking on.

Taking it easy. My two office mates (on the left) are pretty lazy. I can only image how they’ve been slacking since I’ve been on the road for two weeks. Not in Paris and Roma, mind you, but in Kauai, Kona and Maui.

Pinstagram | Bright Lights and Big Skies

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Pretty in… The RACHEL Rachel Roy dress I wore to interview the designera pink bow I’d wear everywhere.

Red squared. A model getting made up before the LOULOU Magazine event at Metropolis at Metrotown + a pair of red shoes that almost perfectly match her hair colour.

Natural beauty. An arrangement from a wedding (congratulations Matt and Megs!) + a place I’d fall in love with.

Graceful greys. Joe Fresh’s moody fall palette + a moody evening sky.

Bright lights. Martha Sturdy’s illuminated orb sculptures (available at Provide) + an illuminated model.

Sunny side up. Sunflowers for a September baby (happy birthday, Elisa!) + a not-so-sunny cat.

Crown jewels. A vintage varsity sweater that would be a gem if it weren’t from a rival high school + some paper gems.

Big sky. Life under the open sky in my MINI Roadster convertible (which you can win, by the way!) + life in the even more open sky.

Cue the cards! Getting ready for my trend presentations at Metropolis at Metrotown + a trendy print.

Ladies of lines. Lovely illustrated packaging at Matchstick Coffee + a century-old illustration.

Foxy kitty. My cat Estelle Getty + a piece of origami.

Paint the town pink. Holt Renfrew celebrated 175 years by popping open bottles of bubbly + a bubble-gum pink look from Oscar de la Renta.

On point. A woodsy sunrise in Whistler the morning of my friends’ wedding (congratulations Jen and Pete!) + some spike-tacular art by Fredrik Akum.

The view from the ferry en route to a wedding in Victoria (congratulations Corrine and Dave!) + a waterfront seat I could spend hours in.

A sequins of events. An itty bitty beret from a back-to-school spread I styled for The Province (it’s from Children’s Place at Brentwood Town Centre) + sparkly gowns at Ellie Saab.

Two takes on modernism. A new(ish) forest up in Whistler + a probably-much-newer building.

Love fest. Me (squared) in the Love It or Lose It Lounge at Metropolis at Metrotown + a neon <3.

One of my favourite lunch spots in Vancouver Nuba + one of my favourite fruits.

A purple hazy view of Vancouver from the Cambie Street Bridge+ a purple hazy (and kind of creepy) shot by Swiss Photographer Chantal Michel.
