Go long. That’s a sports reference I don’t quite get (something to do with football?) but, as a style and design reference, I get it 100%. And it’s a slam dunk in my books (I know, I know, wrong sport, but you get where I’m going with it).

I am such a creative creep. I love seeing the work behind the work, getting a glimpse into the thought process — and the process process — of people who make beautiful things.
Which is why I love Ste. Marie Design’s Tumblr. The interior designer firm helmed by Craig Stanghetta is responsible for some of Vancouver’s most beautiful new restaurants, like Savio Volpe and Kissa Tanto, and their Tumblr feels like a moodboard they might have created when they were beginning any number of their projects.
It’s filled with interior design, sure, but also fashion and art, much of which is raw and refined, jagged and framed in gold.
It will make you want to quit your job and become a designer. Or at the very least, start Tumbling again. So bookmark Ste. Marie Design’s Tumblr already and bookmark The Anthology while you’re at it.

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Kelsey Dundon’s Instagram photos of places and faces in and around Vancouver).
Seating arrangement. My midcentury Danish chairs that replaced the sofa that used to sit under that window + a blush sofa that could replace anything it wished to.
In bloom. My desk looks like spring + so does Rachel de Ravenel’s bench (photographed by Diana Koenigsberg for C Magazine).
Wading pool. A sunny weekend in Whistler + a sunny series of pools.
Backyard. I put up a tire swing in an effort to turn our backyard into a playground + I should just give up because this backyard hideaway is the coolest.
Seeing red. I stopped into Coach to meet with their team and shoot with my bright red phone + a red hot suit.

Add metallics to any old thing and you have instant glamour. Mix in some pastels and you have the most winningest of winning combinations.
Wear: Karen Walker One Splash sunglasses.
Where: The extraordinarily cool Shugaa Dessert Bar in Bangkok, which is inspired by sugar crystals and, just like sugar itself, something I can’t get enough of.
I’m helping my sister redesign her kitchen — replacing her retro cabinets, extending her counters, figuring out what to do with an awkward space underneath a window, the works. And the sticking point right now is the floor and backsplash because the options are endless (even within a budget) and there’s real potential to do something striking.
Nothing, perhaps, as striking as the floors in the #IHaveThisThingWithTiles feed on Instagram (where all these images are from), but striking nonetheless. I’ll keep you posted.

Fashion Meet. The Eco Fashion Week press conference at the Fairmont Waterfront (read my piece on one of their most innovative shows here) + a workspace that looks like it would also have waterfront views.
Hop to it. My little Easter bunny + a hopscotched kids’ room.
In bloom. Magnolias are my favourite + this makes carnations look surprisingly cool too.
Dress forms. Three dress forms backstage before one of my segments on Global Television + three dressed-up models before the coolest party ever.

I admire minimalism, perhaps because I am not a minimalist. My instincts lean toward more so I respect those who gravitate towards less.
Maybe that’s why I find DeSmitten so refreshing.

Like Zach. I owe the fact that I’m able to work with a three-month-old baby to that BabyBjorn she loves so much + a variation on the same theme.
Studio space. The beautiful Union Bridal + a workspace I wouldn’t mind calling my own.
Pop of pink. My officemate wears a lot of pink + so does that office chair.
Frozen in time. My living room (as photographed by my toddler) + a living space with a similar vibe.
Stripes and strawberries. Chamomile tea and cheddar bunnies are an unusual food pairing, I’ll give you that much + a far less unusual pairing: stripes and bloomers.

Often I have no idea how I first stumbled across a site. I’ll get lost in an internet vortex and end up somewhere so inspiring that I get drawn in even further and by the time I drag myself away from my screen I have no idea how I ended up there in the first place.
But with the design blog French for Pineapple, I know exactly what drew me to it: the above photo. It landed in my Pinterest feed and I fell in love with it right away. The print is striking, the stools are amazing and the blue walls make me want to paint my living room.
Edited by print and textile designer Bianca Hall, French for Pineapple is filled with art recommendations, photos of her constantly reinvented North London home and DIYs like the fluffy stools I fell in love with in the first place (CB2 has something similar if you’re not super handy with a staple gun).
In other words, it’s filled with some serious inspiration. So bookmark French for Pineapple already and bookmark The Anthology while you’re at it.
