Vancouver | Sporting fanatics

I’m no sports fan. Unless, you know, my team’s future completely and totally depends on it.

kelsey-whitecaps-gameBut I love a good Vancouver Whitecaps soccer game.

I think it’s the fans. When it comes to crazy fanatics, the soccer crowd has every other sport beat. Hands down.

The drumming, the chanting, the “Oo are ya”-ing. It doesn’t get any more infectious than that. And these are North American fans too. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to attend a game in a country where this sport is called football. Have you been?

Yup…went to one in Northern Ireland.

I think I was the only female there and every time the guys around me swore at the team, they would then turn around and apologize to me.

    I heart Ireland :)

I’ve never been to a soccer game, but while I was in Mexico City I learned one or two chants from UNAM Pumas fans.

BTW, congrats on Northill Creative! It looks like you’re thriving. :)

Oooh nice pics! Just went to my first Whitecaps game on Monday and it was super fun. Agree that I can’t imagine what it would be like in Europe or somewhere that it’s crazy popular! If this pic is from the game against Man City, I was sitting so closet o you!!!

I have been to football (aka soccer games) in Europe and there’s nothing like it. The absolute highlight was when the World Cup came to Germany while I still lived there. Got to see one game because our client was a main sponsor, but better yet, the vibe in every city (ours was one of the host cities) was just incredible. Definitely the most fun sports to watch!

P.S. I’ve finally joined Twitter @haute_world. Hope to see you there!
