to look back on summer and laugh. Because it feels like it was forever ago, doesn’t it? I almost can’t remember a time it was light past 4:30 pm.
I found the shot of Grace Kelly here. Speaking of the Princess of Monaco, I just re-watched Rear Window and fell in love with her costumes all over again. Have you seen it? They’re incredible, aren’t they?

Gosh she’s gorgeous. Sigh I so miss summer.
I love this photo of princess Grace.
Gorgeous and free.
And all her Hitchcock costumes were fabulous!
xx
Oh I agree with you, the whole getting dark at 5 is incredibly depressing!
and I should watch that movie, she is so adorable
I still sigh at the thought of that full-skirted white cocktail dress she wears when she shows up at Jimmy Stewart’s apartment, the one with the black leafy tendrils over the tulle. Utter perfection.
She is the epitome of style and grace. ah.
coicindence I saw the movie last week!
and of course I felt in love witht the amazing dress she wears in the movie.
The first one, Black & white is absolutly fantastic….
Mizz J — how incredible would it be to live in Vancouver half the year and Sidney have the year? If you timed it right, it would be summer year-round.
Saskia — she’s outrageously beautiful, isn’t she?
Miss Neira — you’ll fall in love with her costumes.
Lisa — it is! Absolute perfection. And she carries it so well.
SLK — Ha! and you think I’m a nerd.
Sofiasophie — That is such a coincidence — that first one is the best. I want one like it to wear to the ballet, in fact.
Vancouver summer = lame. It’s like someone stole my daylight hours from me. GIVE IT BACK TO US!!
How are we supposed to take photos?! :(
Superb posts. More winter wardrobe please (may as well make use of layering while we can?)
Grace Kelly’s B/W dress is a high point of my favorite movie, which also includes my favorite screen kiss of all time. the super close up, slow mo kiss she gives Jimmy Stewart is a heart stopper.
I can see you spend time blogging, I can tell you it’s worth it! Love it! And Rear Window happens to be one of my favorite movies, the black and white dress? Amazing… I smell blog love here:) /Hermione
Sandy — I’ve been so bad about posting winter outfits. I’ll have to get back into the groove.
Christopher — Her black and white dress would be perfect for the opera, wouldn’t it?
Hermione — It is so well done, isn’t it?
beautiful photo, captures the essence of her so well. I watched “Read Window” in one of my classes and she was absolutely enchanting in it. you make me want to watch it again now! haha
