Especially the ones who let you pilfer pieces from their closet.
This shirt was my husband’s, but when the dry cleaner shrunk the sleeves, I nabbed it and have worn it with pants and shorts and skirts.
When I showed up to work wearing it, my friend Melissa pointed out that it is very Katherine Hepburn. (I found this photo, along with one of my favourite Ms. Hepburn, here.)
I wore that shirt with these vintage anchor earrings. If I wanted to go, umm, overboard with the whole nautical thing, I would rock the earrings with this shirt.
And if I wanted to make this belt (which I clasped with a pin from a kilt) really pirate-y, I would wear it with this bracelet. Aaaaargh you thinking the same thing?

fantastic earrings! i love men’s shirts. funnily enough i do not own a crisp white one though. this needs to be rectified stat.
I luv Katherine Hepburn’s style, solely classic and you have just recreated this sophistication with yet another fabulous outfit, accessories and all !
YOU ROCK !!!
Men’s shirts are simply fabulous. I truly wish I had a boyfriend, if only for the sheer fact of raiding his closet! :)
Quelle — a white one would look fantastic on you. When I wear it unbuttonned it makes me feel like an artist (probably because in elementary school we’d wear them as smocks).
Gerri — Are you kidding? With all your shoe/art/quote combos, you’re the one who rocks.
Cafe Fashionista — Raiding closests is fun, but you could always just raid the men’s department. I’ve found so many hats and pocket squares and whatnot in that wonderful world.
just fab earrings – love love love nautical (except for the sea sickness =D)
Oversized white shirts are essential but my hubby’s don’t fit me. His tend to be more slim and structured fitting.
Absolutely loving that shirt on you, and those anchor earrings are so gorgeous. I keep thinking that I ought to buy a good kilt pin for using as a tie bar alternative. Really do hope you had a beautiful weekend :)
Great shirt! Lucky for you the drycleaner made that ‘mistake’ ;-) A shame I couldn’t do the same with my husbands shirt, but I think they would require some major shrinkage (shoulders are just too broad). Oh, and I hear you on the nautical theme. I tend to have a phase in early summer where I end up wearing red shoes, a blue stripey top (with an anchor on it), a vintage anchor brooch, a blue blazer and jeans.
I LOOOOOOVE those earrings and the combo with your shirt!
Very swanky!
Your outfit is wat I would wear to school everyday =)
I have the exact same pair of shorts you’re rocking and let me tell u, I wear it with everything : dress shirts, blouses, tank tops…u name it
Sorta like you, I snatched my cousin’s old shirts instead of shedding 70 bucks for a boyfren’s shirt at Aritzia….and I m way happier this way!
Lovely outfit!
you look gorgeous.
and regarding the millions cats in Istambul, when I was there I wanted to adopt them all too. And I remember my dad telling us, to my sister and I, “please, girls, they are very dirty”….
…. but we didn’t really mind that….
The outfit works for you.
