When we remodelled our kitchen, we had to tear up the 1970’s red-and-black Spanish-inspired laminate flooring (which I loved). Since we didn’t have a big budget for the new kitchen, I chose several close-in-colour ceramic tiles that were cheap as borscht, but when laid together had a sort of natural stone effect. (You can kind of see them here).
Every time my mom comes over she tells me how brilliant that was (because she’s my mom) but I think this multicoloured tile treatment is legit brilliant. And I’m not related to the architect at all.
