woman2warrior, May 25th at Swangard Stadium!

For the past few years I’ve been a host on Timmy’s Telethon benefitting BC Easter Seals Camps. This year, I’m working with Easter Seals on their newest fundraiser — woman2warrior.

It’s a 5km obstacle race for women of all ages and fitness levels.

I figure you could go for brunch with your girlfriends that Sunday morning. Or you could get muddy for a good cause.

Plus there are mimosas at the finish line. So grab your girlfriends and join us on May 25th at Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium and follow along as we share training tips, fundraising ideas and a little pinspiration (pictured above) on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

P.S. We’re looking for vendors and sponsors to make this year’s finishers’ area even bigger and better than last year. Want to help? Please contact info@woman2warrior.ca

Giveaway | Lainey Gossip’s Faculty of Celebrity Studies

I read a ton of blogs. They’re my inspiration, my information, my everything. But the one blog I read every. single. day? Lainey Gossip. If you’re also a fan and want to join me at the Lainey Gossip Faculty of Celebrity Studies Tour 2014 when it stops in Vancouver next weekend, you’re in luck. It’s super exclusive (only 50 attendees) but you and your bestie could win your way in.

Lainey will be sharing her take on conscious uncoupling, James Franco, John Travolta and so many more. The live lecture will include cocktails and snacks, as well as a cerebral look at the study of celebrity gossip. Lainey will also be sharing an inside look at her debut book Listen to the Squawking Chicken. It takes place next Saturday, April 12, attendance will be taken at 1 p.m. and class will adjourn at 3 p.m. in downtown Vancouver.

To enter email KDundon@TheAnthology.ca with subject: Lainey Gossip. I’ll pick a winner this week. Good luck!

UPDATE: Contest closed. Congrats, Laura!

Style | Behind the Scenes of our Spring Trends Features

At home, my wardrobe is strewn with clothes thrown helter skelter. On the job, though, everything is perfectly placed/folded/wrinkled/what have you.

A lot goes into a shoot.

These are a few of the behind-the-scenes shots from a trend series I styled for The Province and Metropolis at Metrotown (thanks again, team!).

The features run Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout April in the print edition of The Province.

P.S. For behind-the-scenes shots as they happen, like The Anthology on Facebook.

Style | Spring Fashion Features in The Province

It’s a jungle out there. And in here. I spent the last few days shooting a spring style series for The Province at Metropolis at Metrotown. In this particular shot we’re shooting part of a very jungly, very tropical, very floral spread. There will be eight in total, all of them running in April.

I haven’t even counted how many pieces we shot. But it was a lot. Trust. And I can’t wait to see the finished product!

[First photo by Vanessa Choot for Metropolis at Metrotown — thank you!]

Diary | Pre-fall Trend Forecast on Global TV

I don’t have a crystal ball. But I do have runway photos. And they can tell me a lot about your future, or at least your closet’s future.

I stopped by Global BC on Friday to talk about some of the biggest trends for summer and pre-fall (my favourite non-season season). My favourites? Long ladylike skirts, short culottes and luxe lace. I see a lot of them in your future.

Thanks for having me, Global Television and Metropolis at Metrotown! And thanks, Jaclyn, for the photo!

Food | My Sister the @HealthFoodSnob

Ugh. Health food snobs are the worst. Unless they make you chocolate peanut butter pies and more almond milk smoothies than you can shake a bag of nuts at. My sister is one such health food snob. In fact, she’s the @healthfoodsnob on Instagram, sharing photos and recipes of meals that are delicious, nutritious and often ambitious (at least by my lazy chef standards).

Drink it in, friends!

Style | Last-minute Gift Ideas

So you’ve still got some shopping to do? Me too. I like to think it’s not a matter of procrastinating, but of being a deadline-driven person.

When I stopped by CTV to share some of my favourite last-minute gift ideas from Park Royal, neither Mike Killeen nor Perry Solkowski believed me when I said I still had a million gifts to get. And that was four days ago. Here I am on Christmas Eve and I still haven’t finished holiday shopping.

If you’re in the same boat (or if you’re looking for something to spend your gift cards on), may I recommend these picks from Anthropologie, Sephora, Lush and J.Crew?

You’ll find all the details in the clip.

Happy shopping and even happier holidays!

Giveaway | $100 gift card for all those last-minute gifts!

On Friday I’m going to be on CTV armed with brilliant last-minute gift ideas. So tomorrow I’m heading to the North Shore to Park Royal’s newly expanded outdoor shopping centre to scout all the best gifts for your dog-walker, hair-dresser, dentist, you name it. And since it’s the season to give, The Anthology has teamed up with Park Royal and LOFT to give you a last-minute gift of your own: $100 to Park Royal plus some earring bling from LOFT (pictured in the centre above) so you can stuff your own stocking!

Want in? Send me an email at kdundon@theanthology.ca and I’ll put your name in the draw. Contest open to residents of BC., contest closes Thursday, December 19th at 9:00am.

P. S. Set your PVR for CTV at Noon on Friday for some very fun, very creative gift ideas.

[UPDATE] Congratulations, Jean! There’s a gift card coming your way. Happy last-minute shopping!

Diary | Timmy’s Telethon

Some things are just meant to be. Like when I show up at the studio in a green dress and my Timmy’s Telethon Social Media Desk co-host Bianca Solterbeck is wearing a red one. We didn’t plan it. I swear.

What we did plan was to raise a ton of money. $5.3 million, to be exact, for the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities. And I am so honoured to have been involved. Thanks for having me for a second year, Timmy’s Telethon! And an even bigger thank you to everyone who donated!
