Pinstagram | Hiking Barefoot

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Kelsey Dundon’s Instagram photos of places and faces in and around Vancouver).

Coulda woulda shoulda. An outfit I would wear and an outfit I did wear (with a bracelet c/o of Sarah Cameron and a clutch made of a vintage Bay blanket c/o Identity).

Hiking buddies. We couldn’t find hiking boots that fit feet that small, but she didn’t need ’em anyway. A lake that looks like it could be in British Columbia, but unlike the one I was trekking around, isn’t.

Green prints two ways. One a little more grown up than the other (from babyGap).

Signs of summer. The second-best berry (raspberries will forever have my heart) and summer blockbusters (which I never actually go to. Do you?).

Cups runneth over. A delicious beet and citrus palate cleanser at The Bird’s Nest and some palate-pleasing cocktails.

Pinstagram | A Walk in the Park

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Kelsey Dundon’s Instagram photos of places and faces in and around Vancouver).

Take a seat. The Bird’s Nest, one of my favourite underground restaurants, has the feel of a Parisian apartment. I would just as happily pull up a half-painted chair at Hally’s in London.

Florals and flourishes. A bouquet from the Flower Factory (thanks Alexa!) and a romantic Valentino dress.

Lovey dovey. A wall statement at The Cross Interior Design and a dove grey print by Ashely Goldberg.

Black and yellow. One of the cutest things I saw the other day at Metropolis at Metrotown and one of my favourite Alexander McQueen dresses of all time.

A walk in the park. The spot where the kid and I do our Fit for Two workouts and a pair of sandals which are also McQueen, because, well, heck. What’s the point of filling your imaginary closet if it’s not with beauties like these?

Pinstagram | Water and Watermelon

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Kelsey Dundon’s Instagram photos of places and faces in and around Vancouver).

Blushing. A bouquet from the lovely folks at Talk Shop Media and a peek into Julian Schnabel’s colourful home.

Wrap it up. A gift for my bebe from my friends (and Northill clients) at The Cross Decor and Design and a brilliant lace and craft paper wrap job out of Sweet Paul Magazine.

A fresh take. I have yet to open Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest cookbook but I’m confident it’s packed with fruits and veg, not unlike this watermelon and leaves print, which you can order here.

18 karat. A view of a gold-banded sunset at Jericho Beach and gold-leaf cuffs.

Pinstagram | Sunshine, stripes and sangria

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Kelsey Dundon’s Instagram photos of places and faces in and around Vancouver).

Earned stripes. My favourite striped Topshop maternity dress and a shirt that would look great on my baby girl once she outgrows all her onesies.

Faster than a… The world’s speediest (and blurriest) Jack Russell Terrier puppy and another kind of speedy beast, this time in wallpaper form.

Good enough to eat. A gourmet bakery-made Pop-tart from Vancouver’s Bigsby the Bakehouse and gilt Oreos.

Mirror mirror. A quiet corner of my living room (lamp from Pottery Barn, mirror from The Cross in Vancouver) and stunning(ly expensive) mirrored pitchers.

Sunshine in a bucket. A bunch o’ daffodils outside Quince Fine Florals and a bushel o’ apples turned into sangria.

Flower power. An orchid fit for my desk (thanks Nick and Shevawn!) and a floral bikini fit for the beach.

Pinstagram | Now Presenting…

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Kelsey Dundon’s Instagram photos of the best places and faces in and around Vancouver).

Visions in black and white. Kendra Hagerman, Mana Mansour, May Globus and Sunny Shum at Holt Renfrew’s spring trend presentation + a look from Carolina Herrera’s pre-fall 2013 presentation.

Colour pops. A few of MAC’s many lip colours + one of Inaluxe’s vibrant prints.

A (class)room with a view. Spaceship-like windows at Simon Fraser University where I lecture on Digital Communications  + a very dramatic lighting fixture.

A case of the pinks and blues. A nameless new shop on Vancouver’s Main Street (which I wrote about here) + a detail from Kenzo’s fall 2012 collection.

Not-so-pink panther. My favourite desk accessory + Cartier’s killer cat ring (which costs as much as a mid-sized sedan but is totally worth it, I’m sure).

Pinstagram | All that glitters

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

A hand, please. My friend Ashley and I giving ourselves a hand at Heirloom Vegetarian and a model getting a hand (or eight) backstage at Valentino spring 2013.

Read up. Grabbing a seat at Lisa Tant’s spring trend presentation at Holt Renfrew and a coffee table book I’d love to add to my collection.

Blushing. Rose-shaped, raspberry-flavoured meringues at Gastown’s Cadeaux Bakery (a great place to go for tea) and a Max Factor ad from the 1950s.

Mr. Golden Sun. My speedy boy Roy frolicking in the golden sun and Elle Decor‘s spectacular gold kitchen cabinets, which has me tempted to spray paint my cabinets.

Keeping it old school. The Mighty Oak, a tiny general store/cafe tucked away near Cambie (I wrote about it here), and a vintage-inspired swimsuit from Anthropologie.

Reach the peak. The sun was out! (My Vancouver-based self got quite excited about it.) And a sculpture by New York-based artist Norman Mercer.

Go to (Gas)town. A shot I took after closing down the opening of Rennie Collection’s Robert Beck/Robert Buck show, which happens to be just a few blocks from one of my favourite stores Old Faithful Shop in Gastown.

Pinstagram | Puppy Chau

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Furry and fluffy. A young lab puppy who took a liking to my Cougar Boots and an illustrated cat I took a liking to.

Emerald city. My youngest intern makes herself comfortable in my Herman Miller Embody Chair, meanwhile I’d be quite comfortable in this emerald outfit.

When life hands you roses… Rose-infused lemonade at the General Public on Main Street (which I wrote about here) and flower-cicles for your drank.

Lovey dovey. A punny shirt at Victoria’s Secret Pink and proof that pink isn’t just for Valentine’s Day.

Hang it up. Mobile cards at stationery store The Hach and mobile hearts for your living room.

Get comfy. Make like your best friend and curl up on a floor cushion or with a cozy old blanket.

Chau down. A snapshot from Chau Veggie Express (which I covered here) and the cover of the cutest book ever.

Pinstagram | Lions, dinos and wolves

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Lions and dinos. The Lions Gate Bridge, which takes you from downtown Vancouver to the north shore mountains, is old by this city’s standards, but new compared to a prehistoric roadtripper.

We call it “snewing”. Snowshowing beats hanging out in the rainy city, unless of course you’re hanging out in the city decked out in winterwear that looks anything but.

Neck and neck. I keep a crystal close to my heart in a pouch by Vancouver’s Ora bags, just like I’d keep this necklace by Mawi close to my heart if it were mine.

Pretty Walrus. Vancouver’s Walrus Home never fails gift-wise, just like a pony T cinched with a bow never fails girliness-wise.

Wildebeasts. My wild beasts aren’t nearly as fierce as a real wild beast. Not even in the Tyra Banks sense of the word.

Change of pace. I kicked off my lectures at Simon Fraser University’s Digital Communications Program this week, which means I’m already thinking of a palm tree-riffic spring break.

Beet it. The vegan chocolate cake at Heirloom Vegetarian is a) surprisingly delicious and b) decorated with beets, just like this home is outfitted with beet-red decor.

Pinstagram | Twigs and Twiggy

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Take a hike. Walking off holiday turkey with my beasts in a coat c/o Old Navy and boots c/o Cougar + my favourite place to get lost.

Colour wonderful. One heckuva bright book at Elliott Bay Books in Seattle + one heckuva bright door.

Purple haze. A pastel sunset in Seattle + a pastel-clad Twiggy.

Bright lights. The flying neon pig of Save On Meatsa neon kiss.

Oooooh sparkly. Baked at Home’s delicious sugar crystal-covered cookies and Olivia Wilde’s crystal-covered top.

Ring it in. My headpiece wants to wish you a very happy 2013. May it be a colourful one!

Pinstagram | Patterns, Pinks and Prep

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Instagram).

Seeing patterns. A casual look comprised of a Gap shirt, vintage bag and shoes Structured 65 c/o Ecco + a pretty entryway (those things need more love).

I’m lovin it. With hosts Jillian Harris and Todd Talbot at the Love It or List It Vancouver launch + a home that, if it were mine, I would never, ever list.

Bursts of colour. Candy-coloured Native Shoes for the wee ones and big ones + a colourful kitchen carpet.

Sand and paint. Gastown’s Union Wood Co. + a painting in all the colours of love.

Shirting the issue. Men’s shirts by Minimum (launching in Canada spring 2013) + a little pastel prep.

Golden oldies. The classic apple cider is reinvented with whipped cream and caramel at Bel Cafe + a vintage YSL necklace.

Eye of the mini tiger. My fluffy beast Estelle Getty + another cat-eyed beauty (whose newest movie baffles and amazes me).

Pretty in… Making macarons at Simply French, such a wholesome stagette activity (congratulations, Kara!) + the most rock ‘n roll pink outfit I I’ve ever seen.

Auditoriums and aquariums. A lecture hall early in the morning before a talk I gave at Simon Fraser University’s Continuing Studies + a school of jellyfish.
