Thanks again for having me!

Pinstagram | Royal blue, royal jewels

The Anthology’s Pinstagram column marries the dream (Pinterest) and the reality (Kelsey Dundon’s Instagram photos of places and faces in and around Vancouver).

Got the blues. A shirt (from Club Monaco) that matches your grandma’s couch and an icy blue Swedish room.

Veggie love fest. Brunch at the Bird’s Nest and shaved asparagus salad.

Killer view. The scene outside SFU’s harbour campus and the camp spot of my dreams (which reminds me of one we had on the beach in Oregon a few years ago).

Ring ring bling. Jewelled iPhone cases (from H&M) which I featured in a trend series I styled for The Province and a pair of sparkly earrings.

Picture this. Behind the scenes of a shoot I styled and a more traditional, but no less dreamy, workspace.

Crown jewels. A lace-looking necklace (from Plenty) and a royal beauty.

P.S. There are more photos where these came from so add The Anthology on Facebook and follow @KelseyDundon on Instagram.

Wear/Where | Jungle Print

It’s a jungle in your closet. And on your wall. Or at least it should be. Lions, tigers and leopards (oh my!) look grrrrrrrreat in abstract prints and muted shades. Meow.

Wear: Balmain lion-print top.

Where: A mural that would look just as fierce in your office as it would in a nursery.

Inside Kelly Wearstler’s Studio

“The key to success is organization,” says Kelly Wearstler. In this video by the New York Times, the designer offers a tour of her Los Angeles studio, where she and her team dream up and bring to life everything in her eponymous line, from home wares to women’s accessories.

Home | DIY Dining Room Table and Mismatched Chairs

For a lot of people the thought of re-covering a chair is intimidating. But that’s easy. So, so easy. It’s the re-painting that tough, messy, tiring work. When I upcycled a pair of stools for the Vancouver Home and Design Show a few seasons ago, I spent minutes with the staple gun putting on new fabric but I spent hours and hours sanding and painting.

So this DIY from A Beautiful Mess would be an undertaking and a half. Not only is the table made from scratch, but the chairs were all sourced at different flea markets, sanded down and painted a million coats of vibrant yellow. But man, would it be worth it.

Give | Avril Loreti Tea Towels on Etsy

I’m prepping for a last-minute gift guide segment so I’ve been thinking a lot about what to get…everyone really. I do all my shopping at the very last minute (I’m like your deadbeat boyfriend) so now that I think about it, for me, it’s a typical gift guide segment.

One of the toughest gifts of all? The hostess gift. (Also one of the rarest to see in real life.) It’s a fun one, though. Especially if you get bright, colourful tea towels by Toronto-based Avril Loreti. They’re like sunshine in textile format and they’re available on Etsy.

If you wanted to get really fancy (and even a bit green) you just might wrap an under-the-tree gift in one. Or if you want to get less fancy you’ll order some for yourself like I did (thanks, Etsy!).

Am I the only one who ends up getting tons for herself when she’s out searching for gifts? Please say no.

Home | Love to House Creep? Win Tickets to the Vancouver Home and Design Show!

The Selby is one of my favourite blogs, pinning to this Sweet Home board is my favourite way to spend a grocery store lineup and I will happily stop into an open house even though I have zero intention of moving. House creeping is the best.

If you also love all things home and design, you’re in luck. We’re giving away two pairs of tickets to the Vancouver Home and Design Show this weekend (Oct. 17-20). Want a pair? Email me at kdundon@theanthology.ca and I’ll randomly pick a winner.

UPDATE: The contest is now closed. Congratulations, Mandy and Camille! Have fun!

Wear/Where | Summer Pastels

I’m not one of those people who changes up my decor based on the season. I’m one of those people who’s just constantly changing up my decor. But if I were the type of person to follow calendecor (is that a thing?) then this pastel print would seem about right for summer. And this necklace in surprisingly similar hues would seem about right for weddings and patio brunches and all those things you do during the summer when you’re not at your seasonally decorated home.

Where: Pastel triangle print by The Minimalist
Wear: Anthropologie’s Berry Drop necklace

Bookmark | Bleubird

In The Anthology’s Bookmark column we explore some of the most inspiring places on the wild, wild web.

It was this image (which I found on Pinterest) that first drew me to Bleubird. It’s the cutest mom and kid shot ever. Plus, I love her overalls and the little one’s onesie.

Turns out Bleubird is full of cool finds– blogger James Kicinski-McCoy runs an online vintage shop (though it’s not up at the moment) and I love the casual coolness of her picks. There’s something simple, almost rustic about them.

An aesthetic that extends to her home.

And her baking, apparently.

It’s the kind of mommy blog that you don’t have to be a mommy blog reader to love. So bookmark Bleubird already and bookmark The Anthology while you’re at it.

P.S. Beef up your list of favourite links with The Anthology’s Bookmark picks.
