What can I say?

I think this is the most strikingly beautiful (though slightly creepy) marionette I’ve ever seen. In fact, I think I’ll add her to my inspiration board. How could you not love those sleeves?

I found the image here. Thank you, Erin, for the inspiration.

All that plaid

But no rad dad?

That’s too bad.

mynk-jeans

This time, coupled with my Mountie jacket, my vintage men’s plaid shirt feels much more polished. My jeans? They’re Mynk.

And yet again, I’ve matched my nail polish to my jacket. And yet again, I did not mean to.

I suppose it means I’m drawn to vibrant colours. They’re like a ray of sunshine on a rainy fall day.

How cool would it be

to carve the pattern of this skirt into a pumpkin?

You’d need more skill with a carving knife than I have, but I swear you could make it look almost identical.

My necklace? I made it.

My boots? They’re Kenneth Cole. And they’re exactly what I’d been looking for. Don’t you love when that happens?

Lilith Fair is back!

And boy is it beautiful, if I do say so myself (my agency designed the new look and I’m just so gosh-darned thrilled with it).

To find out who’s playing when and where next summer, follow Lilith on Twitter. And while you’re at it, follow The Anthology too.

High — Low

It’s a fun game to play — which pieces did you find at a thrift store in Vancouver and which did you find at Printemps in Paris? Answers: Dior scarf from Paris, thrifted belt from the ‘Couv.

Speaking of low/high — this dress once had a much lower hemline, but it felt far too heavy (even for fall) so I had it raised.

The wishbone belt buckle makes me so excited for American Thanksgiving. (Yes, I celebrate all the Thanksgivings North America has to offer.)

givenchy-tights

The Givenchy tights? They make me kind of excited to dress for cooler weather. But only kind of.

Is it possible?

Could this be my frumpiest “before” shot yet? There’s some very close competition, but I’m gonna to go out on a limb and say this is the frumpiest vintage dress I’ve ever tried to transform into something I’d actually wear.

The surprising “after” shot can be found on one of my very favourite blogs DreamSequins, where I’ve written a guest post.

Thank you so much, D, for having me!
