I planned on spending the weekend hiking

And I kinda did. See:

Green Lake Whistler hiking

But when I was up in Whistler I also stopped into the amazing vintage shop F as in Frank (which also just opened up in Vancouver on Main and Broadway) and got this vintage Expo 86 t-shirt (I’ve wanted one soooooo bad ever since my brother found one).

What I can’t decide is whether I should chop it up as per my New Kids on the Block t-shirt or leave it pristine.

And then there’s the shirt my husband bought. Which would be a crime to cut up.

hmm.. that’s a toughy. i guess it would depend on if you think the existing neckline will fit your wardrobe better than a sliced v-neck?

great find though! i own 2 expo ’86 shirts – the ringer style tees – i think they were only available in youth sizes? i’ve worn the red, but the blue is still in its plastic packaging. i can’t bear to open it.

cute! i like how you incorporate shopping somehow on the way to a hike.

I kinda like it the way it is but of course cutting it up adds some personal flavour.

    Leave it.

Ahh very nice, however it barely compares to my Expo 86 shirt.

F as in Frank is fabulous–they loaned us clothes and accessories for our ’80s-inspired staff photo shoot for Stylefinds. Have you been to their Main Street location yet?

Hmmm… I would leave it as is just because it’s such a hard vintage tee to find (I’ve been trying to find one for ages…)

I can’t believe Bryce wouldn’t give you his, he wasn’t even born yet.

ps. add me to your blogroll please!!!

Quelle — how on earth did you manage to get your hands on two of them? I’ve been looking for one forever.

Liv — I really did intend to hike the whole time. I swear.

    Irina — I just might.

Bruce — I know, I know. Don’t rub it in.

Lisa — Haven’t yet been to their Main Street location, but was really impressed with the one in Whistler. Especially their dude’s department (mostly because it kept my husband occupied long enough for me to look through everything).

Leigh — I know how you feel. Hang in there. Or bug Quelle for one of hers.

Larissa — that’s exact what was getting my goat. And of course I’ll add you!

the vancouver canada tee is so cool! what a great find!

ah, i forgot to mention that my parents had the foresight to purchase them discounted at the end of the expo ’86. okay, not so much foresight as just typical pat-rack tendencies of theirs. we never wore them and they were kept in their respective plastic packages for eons until i rescued them out of storage a couple years ago.

I’m sure whatever you decide to do it’s going to be fashionably fabulous !!!
The first photo reminds me of a postcard, it’s charmingly scenic!

I’m so proud that you went shopping while you went hiking ;) It’s the kind of thing I would do, except when I’m in the mountains, I only tend to see hiking shops. Love the shirts. And the fact that you saw NKOTB last year. I feel so old, when I think of how I used to party to their music as a young teen… sigh.

Nina — it’s almost as beautiful as my little city.

Quelle — smart ‘rents! If your t-shirts have Expo Ernie on them, you’re the luckiest person ever. Post photos of them!

Gerri — it was so, so beautiful up there. Green Lake was waaaaay too cold to swim in, so we just ate pepperoni and looked at it.

Haute — Watching a 40-year-old man break dance on stage will make you feel young again. That concert was the worst/best thing I’ve ever been to.

leave it. if it sits in your closet and you never wear it then go to work on it. love the view, and the power lines are cute.

Kelsey … Can I share with you that I too have an EXPO 86 shirt with none other than Expo Ernie rocking the front … Oh yeah ;)

Beezie — the power lines add a little je ne sais quoi, don’t they?

    Lauren — not faaaaaair!

Dreamsequins — it’s pretty freaking beautiful, isn’t it?

Slk — I just might listen to you, but boy am I tempted to take a pair of scissors to it.

    Leave it prestine!

Hmm, that reminds me, I should get my expo ernie shirt out of the cupboard.

I also need you to find me a hat.
