Yay WIZERDZ!

I am quite possibly the proudest big sis there is. Because my brother’s electronic dance rock band has hit the big time.

WIZERDZ are headlining the Biltmore Cabaret this Monday.

In my very biased opinion, they’re the best band out there (Phoenix be damned). They’ve played sold-out shows in Vancouver and Victoria, a 30-minute live set on CITR, they opened for The Humans at the Canadian debut of their new video and they’re one of three bands currently in the finals of CITR’s Shindig.

Oh, and they dress like wizards.

So put on your cloak, grab your dancing shoes and don’t miss the show. The WIZERDZ at Biltmore Cabaret (395 Kingsway, Vancouver) on Monday, November 29th with The Killing Time Quartet and Vincent Parker. Tickets at the door.

Excuuuuuuuse me?!?! I would also like to be tied for number one fan.

I have the reputation of being “the sister who dances like crazy in the front row,” after all. And if that doesn’t make me a super fan, I don’t know what does.

P.S. Kastles — their costumes make their shows hilarious. Love them.

I.S. — Thank you! P.S. If there’s one reason to move to Vancouver — it’s the WIZERDZ. Or perhaps they should do a cross-country tour and come to you.

Quelle — Yeaaaaah gurl! Can’t wait to rock out with you!

Excellent talk at the Art Gallery on April 19. I wandered in collemtepy by chance and was captivated. I also attended Habitat’76 at Jericho as a kid and your talk brought back vivid images and memories of some of the unique structures I witnessed at the time. The historical insights you brought to light were fascinating.I learned a lot from your talk, and as a result, was inspired to submit comments to the Parks Board regarding plans for the Jericho wharf area. As a city, it is my hope Vancouver can be grown up and bold enough to encompass a broader vision, which recognizes both historical and cultural elements, as well as supporting the nature we love. I also agree it’s time to try and incorporate adequate recognition for what happened there (Jericho site) in 1976.As I haven’t been living in Vancouver for some time, though I’m a native, it was a great evening to catch up on what’s going on. I look forward to hearing more about the Habitat archival project. I’d like to get involved in some way as well, once I relocate back, which hopefully will be in the coming months. Thank you again for the evening’s presentation.
