The A-list | Los Angeles: City of Angels and ridiculous experiences

I just got back and, in the interest of sharing, I thought I’d compile a list of some of my most memorable experiences.

palm-trees

All of which I’d highly recommend you try.

pierce-brosnan365

1. Engage in intense eye contact with Pierce Brosnan. Some might call it staring. I prefer to call it “sharing a moment”. (As for whether he was thinking “My god, that woman is stunning.” Or “My god, why is that woman wearing an old Canucks t-shirt and maple leaf mittens?” we’ll never know for sure.) [Photo found here.]

posh-and-becks-la-kings-game

2. Attend a Canucks/Kings game with Posh and Becks. Even if “with” really means “sitting across the arena from.”

walking-shopping

3. Shop like a local. [Photo found here.]

venice-beach-la-boardwalk

4. Get offered a fake rolex and a real live bunny rabbit on Venice Beach. [Photo found here.]

gjelina-abbot-kinney-los-angeles

5. Have lunch at Gjelina. Just don’t try to ask for any modifications. They won’t even take the bacon out of your BLT. [Photo found here.]

6. Stroll through galleries and vintage shops on Abbot Kinney and imagine you’re furnishing your $4m Abbot Kinney apartment. [Photo found here.]

pizzeria-mozza-la

7. Eat at Pizzeria Mozza. Remember that pizza scene in Eat Pray Love? I’m willing to bet this pizza is better (especially if you try the one with stracchino, artichokes, lemon and olives). [Photo found here.]

miike-snow-show

8. See Miike Snow at Club Nokia. Actually it doesn’t matter where you see them. They’d be amazing in a parking lot. [Photo found here.]

Oh, Los Angeles, I miss you already. I’ll be back real soon, I promise.

P.S. The Anthology likes you a lot. You should like it too.

That’s so funny – I was in LA last weekend, and I hung out in Santa Monica/Venice Beach and ate at Gjelina too! I wish I had more time to scour the boutiques around there…there were a few that I got to visit in Santa Monica and Venice Beach that were amazing but it would’ve been nice to see more!

Venice Beach is such a hoot. There were tons of people offering me free CDs, and to cure my stress at the endless medicinal marijuana clinics.

How long were you there for?

I’m glad you had a good time! I would love to do some shopping in LA! I’m trying to convince Mike we need to go on a trip haha.

And there is a really really good chance Pierce Brosnan was thinking “My God that woman is stunning”.

    Wow! No… actually… just WOW!

You can’t buy experiences like some of those. Thanks for sharing and I’m stoked that you have all of that “under your (no doubt fashionably accessorised) belt”!

I was reading the recap of that hockey game on canucks.com and in the “Notes” section, where it usually talks about people being traded or called up from the minors or whatever, it mentioned that Posh & Becks were at the game. Also in attendance: Bristol Palin, who was identified, hilariously, as “Reality show dancer.”

LOVED this post!! Feeling inspired to hop on a plane to gather such fun and ridiculous experiences myself, but alas, stuck here in Toronto.

I ADORE the Beckhams. Super jealous you went to the game “with” them! ;o)

Okay, where did this intense eye contact take place? And why didn’t Mr. Cabrera make the list? And who is he?

awesome i can’t believe you saw pierce AND becks. I also love how perplexed Posh and Becks look in that photo – like, “mmm..what IS this icing business?”

i love the wackiness of Venice Beach – you never know what you’ll find there.

looking forward to see what treasures you brought home

Omg I love this post. I feel like I was in LA with you! Even if “with” means “not at all”. (that doesn’t make sense if you actually put it in a sentence, but you get what I mean haha). That pizza looks divine and I can’t imagine what shopping like a local must have been like, I would have died. (and by “die”, I mean “go severely broke to the point of having to hitchhike back home” lol). And that Miike Snow concert sounds like it was a lot of fun, I love his music. And def agree about the parking lot.
