With apologies to Mr. Hammer

You remember these, right?

Well, they’re back! And they’re better than ever!

Because they are now shorts! Which makes me want to, um, jump for joy.

They’re still as pleated as ever, they’re still as acid washed as they were originally, but now that they’re shorts, they’re downright funky.

It’s an extreme makeover, Hammer pants edition. And it’s a miracle that they turned out as well as they did. I’m not going to lie to you, I was worried there for a minute.

P.S. I like when you like the Anthology on Facebook.

    Haha that’s awesome.

I’m pretty sure you are one of a very select few that could pull those off.

It’s not the shorts that are the miracle (although they look great on you post-alteration)–it’s the fact that you didn’t crop your face out of the last photo. Omg!

What a makeover! A definite improvement… now my question is, are you going to do anything with the remaining material? ;-)

They look good when you’re jumping!

    Love them! Hammertime!

But what I really want to know is: who is your tailor? Amazing work!

this is awesome Kelsey! I love that the pleats are still there, it makes for great movement when you wear those shorts. I love that pic of you leaping in the air too btw haha. You could totally have your own reality fashion TV show called Extreme Makeover – Fashion Edition where you take vintage pieces and turn them into something completely new and different. I would totally watch that.

I love the shorts girl! Super cute!!! I am also surprised to read that you were scared it would come out wrong–you always seem perfectly confident on your edits. You know, I would love to see any pieces that you feel “went astray” if they exist. Maybe then I won’t feel so bad. :)

    Loves it!!!

Melissa — I owe you big time for these bad boys.

    K-L — Shocking, but true!

Melissa — No way! Anyone can pull them off. You’ve just got to rock them.

Quelle — I’ve got Melissa to thank for them!

Lisa — I know! Leaving my head in the photo? It’s craziness!

Hauteworld — If I were that crafty, maybe I’d make something with the leftover material. But alas…

SLK — What doesn’t look good when you’re jumping?

    Erin — Why thankya!

Anya — I go to Oakridge Tailors on Cambie.

Nicole — I love your idea of spinning this into a TV show. Now you’ve got my brain a twirlin’.

Alinka — Ooooooh… some of my pieces that have gone astray? I’ll have to see if I can drum something up. But you know what? When you’re getting things professionally tailored, it’s pretty much foolproof.
