It’s a twofer

Your grade two teacher wore something very similar to this, didn’t she?

blouse-skirt-before

Long skirt, exceptionally shoulder-padded shirt — it’s a foolproof combination, isn’t it? So classic. So vintage.

My favourite thing about a twofer is that you can treat the separates as separates and wear them, well, separately.

All I needed to do with the blouse was remove the shoulder pads and it was ready to rock.

Easy peasy.

And all I needed to do with the skirt was take it to the tailor’s (D.I.Y. is so easy when you have someone else D.I. it for you).

blouse-after

So how did the skirt turn out? Who knows! It’s still at the tailor’s. But I’ll let you know as soon as I do.

P.S. Tweet, tweeps, tweet!

A tailor, not diamonds, really is a girl’s best friend eh? The blouse looks great!

I have to agree with Jordana up there, if I could have my own personal tailor/seamstress (ooh and maybe free dry cleaning), I’d be set for life lol. The floral print on that two-piece is stunning. I love the bright colours, very spring/summer. You’ll def get a lot of wear out of it too esp with the separates. It looks great with your cuffed jeans and rolled up sleeves. I can’t wait to see how the skirt looks!

It’s true! I think the original outfit actually DID belong to my second grade teacher.

As always, love your work. xo

You always have such a great eye for vintage pieces and their potential. The blouse looks terrific the way you’ve styled it.

Haha Amazing. I agree with Lisa, you are so good at seeing the potential in these pieces. I would have giggled at this outfit and walked away, yet you are able to turn it into such adorable outfits.

Love the colors of this combo! Granted, I think wearing both at once is a little overkill, but seperately they’re gorgeous! Can’t wait to see how the skirt turns out…

Hi, where do you get the tusk or horn pendants? I haven’t been able to find these.
