Unreal fur

Get it? It’s fake!

It’s also entirely unnecessary because even though the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games start today (OMG! OMG! OMG!) it’s pretty much spring in our beautiful city.

See? This is what’s blooming in my front yard. It’s unreal.

So where were you when you heard Vancouver won the Games? Me? I was in my car on my way to the TV station newsroom where I was interning at the time. Had chills down my spine.

Wow, it’s unseasonably warm here in Montreal but not to the point of flowers sprouting up.

Love your blog by the way!

i was in the one and only youth room at the kcc, just chillin by a foozball table, when vancouver was announced as the host of the 2010 games (or, as Jacques Rogge pronounced it ‘wancouver’).

I lived in Vancouver at the time and was on the bus on the way to work, riding up Main Street at about Main & 20th. The bus driver announced it over the speakers and everyone on the bus cheered!

Caroline — Thank you! I’m heading to Montreal at some point and I am sososo excited! Love that city!

mc — Funny how that moment is seared into our minds, isn’t it?

Risti — Fun! I love when the whole city is united like that.

Liv — You could wear that thing anywhere, any time. And I forgive you for not remembering.

JoAnn — Having the best time ever. Such an Olympics fan!

Becky — It’s practically too warm for me to wear it either. But a gal’s got to do what a gal’s got to do.

Clarity — Snow? No way! We haven’t had that all year. Not in the city at least.

Gah, I’m so jealous! A pretty flower, and a real one too. Amazing! We’re still suffering from Snowmageddonish weather up here in Scandinavia, and there’s not even Obama to witness and name give it. So it’s just plain snow. :(
Olympics are looking awesome too! Canada is clearly the place to be right now.
