I have more scarves than I have ways to wear them.

Mostly because whenever I go to a thrift store or an old ladies’ church group sale, I come home with bags full.

And whenever I think of tying a scarf, I think of the knot Audrey tied in Roman Holiday.

Which is cute and classic (not unlike Audrey herself, come to think of it).

But when I saw this photo from the Satorialist it reminded me of all the ways I’m not wearing my scarves — wrapped around my wrist, tied up as halter tops, stuffed into a pocket as a pocket square.

So I made a midsummer’s resolution: I’m going to start wearing more scarves more ways. They’re too pretty to stay in my closet.

I LOVE scarves! Always looking for new ways to wear them. Have you checked out the Hermes website? They have a fabulous pdf on there showing a ton of different ways to work a scarf…

You’ve made me take inventory of my scarves. I have over ten. And I’ve worn all of 0 in months upon months. I am determined to incorporate them into my wardrobe somehow, someway! :)

Scarves are one of my little obsessions – it’s amazing how it can automatically transform a blah outfit to something sophisticated, feminine, & ladylike!

Well, I have to admit, I am a sucker for scarves and like to recycle them sometimes so I can add new ones to my collection.
One way to do it is to use old scarves to cover boxes, as shown at http://silkartfrombrazil.bom/blog

I totally have a thing for scarves. Not just the silk ones, but woolly winter ones as well. It’s quite insane really. Doesn’t Hermes have a book on over a 100 ways to tie scarves? I think they give it out when you buy one. In any case, I tend to be boring and only tie it in around 3-4 different ways, but you’re right – there’s so much potential!

P.S. I’ve been dying to ask – but keep forgetting – in your agency, are you a creative or on management/traffic/art buying etc? A friend of mine always claimed I dressed like a creative even though I’m not, so I was just wondering what you were ;-)

Thanks team! In answer to your questions:

Haute — I’m a creative at my agency. A writer, in fact (not that you’d know it from the three grammatically incorrect sentences I pass off as posts).

Sally — The church sales are all over (usually the West Side of Vancouver). I’ll try to tweet them on twitter — @theanthology — but they’re usually in the spring. The private school (St. Georges and VCC) fundraisers are also amazing for vintage finds.
